Being Sure of What We Hope For...

Faith. It's not an easy thing. It is not easy to put your hope in what you cannot see. It is not easy to trust in a God that is sovereign--that has our best interests in mind. Yes...faith takes practice. But if you decide to believe--to take the leap--to trust Him......you begin to grow in your faith. It's quite simple if you think about it: The more you believe, the more that you practice belief...the stronger your faith grows. And the stronger your faith grows...the more you experience God. The more you experience God, the more you want to.

This whole idea of faith has made me reflect on my journey, and in particular, this year. 2011. It sure felt rocky. It started out that way atleast. My personal life was a mess. My job was up in the air. I was struggling. Straight up struggling. But if i can tell you one thing i've learned over the past year, it would be that the Lord is faithful. So faithful. He scoops us up in our weakest moments and says--"I'll take it from here. I've got this. Trust me." Another thing i've learned is that you cannot 'out-give' God. I've learned that He blesses obedience. When we listen to his voice and obey, i am convinced that He pours out His kindness.
You've read my blogs about "comfort zones." Well i think that he delights in us even more when we step out of our comfort zones in faith. I am certainly not saying that the Christian walk is fun and easy and pain-free all the time. In fact, it's a pretty narrow path. I believe that God meets us in our suffering...raises us up...builds our character...our faith...and even our wings....

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1.
