....immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine....

Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.
You righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
O Lord, you preserve both man and beast. 
How priceless is your unfailing love!
Both high and low among men
find refuge in the shadow of your wings. 
They feast on the abundance of your house;
you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light we see light.
Continue your love to those who know you,
your righteousness to the upright in heart.
May the foot of the proud not come against me,
nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.

These verses came to mind this morning as i was driving to work.  I think i needed the reminder of just how great His love is.  When mine isn't.  I needed to remind myself that my refuge is in Him.  Not in someone else.  Not in anyone else but Him.  I needed to be reminded that He is light.  It is in His light that we see light.  He knows the future.  We make life pretty difficult for ourselves i think.  I believe if we will just look to Him to guide our steps--truly look to Him--it will make all the difference.  I think when we do our own thing and ignore God--we are in trouble.  There's a difference, you see, between doing things my way and God's way.  If we truly believe that He wants the best for His children, then why would we not look to Him?

I look back at the past year, for example. Lord, where do you want me to live? Show me.  Boom. He gave me a place to live that was perfect for me.  Lord, where am i going to work? Where would you have me get a job? He gave me a job above what i could even ask for.  I give all the credit to Him. (And sure, there were times in there that i stressed over these things, but ultimately i kept handing them over to God.)   I think when we surrender and look to Him for the answers--instead of doing our lives in our own strength--instead of doing our relationships in our own strength--according to our own wills--we will reap the harvestWe will reap a life that God blesses. 

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Ephesians 3:20-21
