Freedom

So i took a mini-roadtrip this weekend. I went to a nearby city for the day on Saturday in attempt to accomplish some of my Christmas shopping (and try not to buy shoes for myself) and just enjoy the gorgeous day. I stopped into a local coffee shop and got the highly recommended apple cider. I walked around Main Street and stumbled upon what was essentially a festival of artists. I saw some of the most unique creations. All hand-crafted by talented artists.

Then i came across this one booth that had cards and magnets by curlygirldesigns.com. (see picture to the right). I immediately fell in love. You see, i am a sucker for whimsical sayings and powerful words. If it touches my heart, i want to buy it and put it on my bulletin board in my office, or frame it, or add it to my vision board. The words get me thinking. They inspire me.

This one in particular rings true with my soul at the moment. You've read pieces of my journey through the last year, and i feel like thanking my heart for sticking by me through this year. Through these several years, actually. Through the ups and downs. For feeling it all. Even the parts i'd like to forget. Today--just today--i choose to let my heart be free--free to love more fully, more completely than yesterday. To take one step toward loving God more--being more mindful of Him. To me, this involves the knowledge that God is love. God is freedom. So it is in Him that my heart is free.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1.
