Fall Foliage, Faith, and Dating Don'ts...

About a week ago i spent the weekend in a cabin outside of Columbia with some amazing women from my Bible study. This picture doesn't do the view justice, but the colors were rich and at their peak!
I'm convinced that sometimes it's just good to get away with good girlfriends and relax. We did exactly what we wanted to do--we painted our nails, we watched movies, we played with makeup, we knitted (yes, knitted). I'm so excited i (sort of) learned how to knit! It's about time! I've been talking about it forever. We even read from a book outloud that told stories of dating disasters! Yes, it was essentially a sleep-over!! Complete with roasting marshmallows and making smores. Had the best time. I felt inspired to write a book about my own dating disasters---but then i remembered that i already kind of do that via this blog. :)
Sometimes it's nice to be away in nature and just be. I've never considered myself an "outdoorsy" type of girl, but i think i am becoming one. I'm learning that everyone is different in how they approach the Lord. Some like to be out in nature---looking at creation--absorbing the scenery--being present with Him. I'm becoming that way. Being at Pretty Place recently, and sitting at the foot of glorious waterfalls, and then being at the cabin and just taking the Fall in. I feel calm. I feel at peace in these moments. I feel as if life is just as it should be. And i am content. Just now. Just with nature. Just with my Savior.
The heavens are Yours. The earth is also Yours. The world and all it contains...you have founded them. Psalm 89:11.
