Humility is not thinking less about yourself....it is about thinking of yourself less.
I've been thinking about humility lately. Partially because it's what the pastor at my church spoke about this past sunday. Partially because it struck a chord with me. I think i've believed for a long time that being humble means not thinking highly of yourself, maybe not accepting compliments, maybe not loving yourself...or if you do, don't let anyone know it!
Not the case.
I think humilty has more to do with knowing who we are---whose we are--- and where our identity comes from. If we truly believe we are children of God, then we want to be who He created us to be. That means dying to self and serving God and others. It's what i believe.
And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
He longs to know us. He doesn't ask much in return. He wants us to act....to love....to walk....
I want to walk with such humility with my God that it points others toward heaven. Don't you?
