Hosanna

Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!" Mark 11:9

I'm learning more about what "Hosanna" really means. It's a cry of praise. It also means "Save now!" It's a plea for help. "Hosanna" is also one of my favorite praise songs by Hillsong United. I was listening to it this morning and realized i've never really understood the meaning of the word, though I think my heart has always known it was praise of the Father.

My hope is that the Lord would inhabit the praises of my heart and my mouth. You are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises. (Psalm 22:3. ) I think i get so bogged down in the day to day details of life, that i neglect praising the Lord. It becomes a Sunday morning occurence.

Today i choose to praise His holy name. Today i choose asking him to save me. Today i praise him with the word Hosanna--simply because He is worthy to be praised. Today i decide to take one step toward a greater understanding of the word grace-a richer understanding of the word Hosanna.
